The Sullivan Centre philosophy is prescriptive skin care. All of our skin care patients are seen by Dr.
Sullivan prior to receiving any treatment. He will suggest medically proven products and services. Our aesthetician, Dina Maynard, will serve as your concierge through this process. She specializes in microdermabrasion, ultrasound, and various facial peels. She works directly with Dr. Sullivan when it comes to light therapy, skin resurfacing, and tightening procedures. By combining experience, relaxation, and medicine, The Sullivan Centre skin care team strives to make each patient experience a unique one. We make beautiful things by combining art and science.
What is Intense Pulsed Light?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is the usage of patented fluorescent light technology to effectively treat facial redness, flushing and pigmentary problems on the face, neck and chest. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) restores a more youthful appearance to your skin with no downtime, little discomfort and minimal risk.
How does it work?
IPL utilizes a fluorescent pulsed light system to deliver a series of gentle light pulses to the skin. Specific filters are selected to maximize effectiveness. A series of treatments are needed to achieve maximum improvement.
What results can I expect?
A gradual decrease in overall redness and flushing can be expected. You will see smoother skin, smaller pore size and fading of sun spots. Rosacea, a common vascular problem, will show significant improvement.
What are treatments like?
Treatments may take from 15 minutes to an hour. Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the treatment. For sensitive skin, a topical anesthetic may be applied. Following each treatment, the skin may appear flushed, tiny vessels may be more visible, and brown spots may appear darker. During the next few hours after treatments, redness should decrease. With minimal recovery period and no discomfort after the treatment, you may proceed with normal activities.
When will I see Results?
You will experience smoother skin and a change in skin tone after your first treatment. Five treatments are normally performed for optimal results. Improvements are gradual and will accelerate after each additional session.
